Youth projects

We’re all about creating ‘Better homes, better lives’. We support community projects which transform lives and make a difference to people living in our areas.

Wheatley Homes East Youth Projects is a joint initiative between Wheatley Homes East and City of Edinburgh’s Community Learning and Development service.

It was developed in conjunction with partners in Gorgie, Dalry, Oxgangs, Moredun, Hyvots and Gracemount areas of Edinburgh. Services range from youth cafes, street work, employability support and environmental projects.

Youth projects
 

Slateford Green Youth Cafe
Young people aged 12-18. 
Wednesday evenings 6-8pm.
Slateford Green Community Centre, Slateford Green, EH14 1NF.

Oxgangs Youth Cafe
Young people aged 12-18. 
Tuesdays and Sundays 6-8pm.
Oxgangs Neighbourhood Centre, 71 Firrhill Drive, EH13 9EU.

South Edinburgh Employability Support Hub
Young people aged 16-24.
Drop-in on Tuesdays between 10am-4pm.
Gracemount Youth and Community Centre, 47 Gracemount House Drive, EH16 6FD.
Support is also available for young people aged 16-19 who are 'Not in Education, Employment, or Training' (NEET) and are eligible for Activity Agreements.

South West Employability Support Hub
Young people aged 16-24.
Slateford Green Community Centre, Slateford Green, EH14 1NF.
Drop-in on Tuesdays between 10am-4pm.
Support is also available for young people aged 16-19 who are 'Not in Education, Employment, or Training' (NEET) and are eligible for Activity Agreements.

EVOLS – (Environmental Volunteer Outdoor Learners)
Provides young people age 16-24 with opportunities to build confidence, learn new skills and gain accreditation through a 10-week programme consisting of conservation and outdoor learning activities.
