Becoming homeless is a very difficult and stressful time.
Your local authority offers advice and help based on your own circumstances. This includes a decision on whether you are homeless in the eyes of the law.

Edinburgh
Get in touch with City of Edinburgh Council's homeless team. They will give you advice and may offer temporary accommodation.
If you have nowhere to stay or are at risk of losing your house, the council's homeless team can help by going over your housing options. This help may include:
- general housing advice
- homeless assessment interview
- temporary accommodation.
East Lothian
Get in touch with East Lothian Council's homeless team. They will give you advice and may offer temporary accommodation.
Fife
Get in touch with Fife Council's homeless team. They will give you advice and may offer temporary accommodation.
Midlothian
Get in touch with Midlothian Council's homeless team. They will give you advice and may offer temporary accommodation.
West Lothian
Get in touch with West Lothian Council's homeless team.
West Lothian Council also provides a homelessness out-of-hours service.
