David Ben-Aryeah took part in the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) conference held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre at the beginning of March, before current Scottish Government guidelines on social distancing came into force.

He joined tenants and housing staff from across Scotland to discuss poverty and inequality, with a particular emphasis on the Scottish Social Security Charter and Universal Credit.

David, a member of the Scottish Government’s working group for developing the Scottish Social Security Charter, took part in a panel discussion with representatives from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and the Scottish Government’s Poverty Commission.

He gave the panel an insight into how Universal Credit affects tenants – and praised Dunedin Canmore for the support it offers.

David said: “The support and services implemented by Dunedin Canmore, as well the commitment and dedication of staff, means customers are treated with dignity, fairness and respect.”

Hazel Young, Dunedin Canmore Managing Director, added: “It’s really important that tenants are at the heart of national policy, particularly on Universal Credit.

“David’s session was really interesting and it’s great to hear how much our support for customers is valued.”
