Time’s running out to claim energy bill support scheme vouchers

If you haven’t already done so, be sure to claim your £400 energy bill voucher before time runs out.

The government’s energy bill support scheme has been running since October and is due to end in March 2023.

While many households will have their six instalment payments added to their account, anyone using a traditional prepayment meter in their home will need to redeem vouchers sent via post if they are to benefit from the scheme.

Vouchers are valid for 90 days, which means those issued in December will expire on 8 March 2023.

Vouchers should have been sent out in the post or via email. Anyone who hasn’t received theirs are being urged to check any unopened mail or junk email.

According to Government figures, almost a third of Scottish households have not yet redeemed their vouchers, with the highest number of households located in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

If you are certain you should have been sent a voucher but didn’t receive this, get in touch with your energy provider or Advice Direct Scotland on 0808 196 8660 (Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm), or through www.energyadvice.scot.
